EMART 40 cm cube, 144 LEDs, 2800 to 5800K review
A 40 cm cube whose colour temperature runs from 2800 to 5800K in ten dimming steps — the only tent on this shelf that changes the colour of its own light, at 40 €.
The bottom line A 40 cm cube that changes the colour of its own light between 2800 and 5800K, with ten dimming steps, a diffuser, a reflection board and six waterproof sheets for 40 €. It counts beads instead of publishing an output, opens in two places rather than four, and runs from USB.
On the listing
Five bullets. A box integrating 144 LED beads with a rendering index above 95, ten-step dimming and a colour temperature of 2800 to 5800K; six removable waterproof PVC backgrounds in white, black, green, red, orange and blue; dimensions of 40 by 40 by 40 cm with a special folding design, assembly claimed in seconds and a sturdy handle; multi-angle shooting through a front horizontal window and a vertical one, named for jewellery, food, accessories and toys; and a package of one portable photo light, six coloured backdrops, one light diffuser, one reflection board and one USB power cable.
Two thousand eight hundred to five thousand eight hundred kelvin
The only tent on this shelf whose light changes colour. Five others are fixed, four of them at 5500K. Matching the box to the room is the one thing none of them can do.
Forty centimetres in all three directions
A true cube, where the 39 € RaLeno is 40 by 30 by 30. Ten centimetres of height is a bottle standing up rather than lying down.
A diffuser and a reflection board, in the box
Two sheets doing the work of a second light: one spreads what comes from above, the other returns it into the shadow.
A hundred and forty-four beads, and no output figure
Bead counts are not brightness. Only the 39 € RaLeno on this shelf publishes lumens, and this page publishes neither lumens nor watts — on a tent powered over USB.
Availability
Between 40 € and 50 € on the German, French and Spanish Amazon stores when this page was last checked.
On the Italian Amazon store the asking price sits more than 1.6× above the cheapest country. A difference that wide usually means a reshipper rather than a seller on the ground, so it is kept out of the figures above.
Listed in the British Amazon catalogue with nothing on sale against the entry: the camera has a page there and no seller behind it.
Nothing came back from the American Amazon store at all, so the button for that country runs a search instead of opening an entry that is not there.
Everything in this section is the figure Keepa carried on the day of the last update to this page. Availability and prices shift without notice.

What it does well, and what it gives up
Strengths
The only tent on this shelf whose colour temperature moves: 2800 to 5800K
A true 40 cm cube, with ten dimming steps and an index above 95
A light diffuser and a reflection board in the box, plus a carry handle
Compromises
A bead count instead of an output figure
Two openings, against the four panels and apertures of the 39 € RaLeno
USB power, which limits how much current the strips can draw
Specifications
Internal dimensions
40 by 40 by 40 cm, in the third bullet. A true cube, which means a tall object and a wide one both fit — unlike the 40 by 30 by 30 cm RaLeno on this shelf, which is 10 cm shorter
Lighting provision
Built in: 144 LED beads, in the first bullet. A bead count rather than an output; the 39 € RaLeno is the only tent here that publishes lumens
Colour temperature and accuracy
ADJUSTABLE from 2800 to 5800K, in the first bullet — and it is the only tent on this shelf that moves at all. Everything else here that publishes a figure is fixed at 5500K. As on any adjustable fixture, the full output is usually found in the middle of the range rather than at its ends, which this page does not mention — Above 95, in the first bullet, alongside the ten dimming steps. The same claim as the 34 € PULUZ, two points below the 39 € RaLeno
Backdrop colours and shape
Six removable PVC sheets — white, black, green, red, orange, blue — described as waterproof in the second bullet, which matters for food and cosmetics. The shape is not described. Red is unusual on this shelf; only this tent supplies one
Openings
Two, in the fourth bullet: a front horizontal window and a vertical one. Fewer than the four ways into the 39 € RaLeno, and the same pair as the 34 € PULUZ
Folded size
Not published. The third bullet gives a special folding design, a claim of assembly in seconds and a sturdy handle for carrying it anywhere, and no measurement — as on all six tents here

What people ask before they commit
When is an adjustable colour temperature worth having in a tent?
When the tent is not the only light in the room. A fixed 5500K box inside a tungsten-lit kitchen puts two colours of light in one frame; matching the tent to the room removes the problem at source. The range here, 2800 to 5800K, covers a warm domestic lamp at one end and overcast daylight at the other.
What are the diffuser and the reflection board for?
Softening and filling. The fifth bullet lists both in the package: the diffuser cloth spreads the light coming from above, and the reflection board returns some of it into the shadow side of the subject. On a 40 cm cube those two sheets do the job that a second light would do in a larger setup.
Does USB power limit it?
It caps the current. The fifth bullet gives a USB power cable, and USB supplies limited power at 5 V, so 144 beads are being driven modestly rather than hard. The page publishes no wattage and no lumens, so the only honest statement is that the output is unstated and the supply is the small kind.
40 by 40 cm · 160 high-brightness LED beads · 5500K daylight, fixed · colour accuracy 97 claimed · EIGHT backgrounds: six PVC in white, black, grey, light orange, blue and green PLUS two matte anti-reflective paper sheets in black and white · a diffuser cloth for lighting from above · front small window plus a top hole · highly reflective interior fabric, closed design to shut out ambient light · assembly claimed under one minute · USB power · no folded size published
Eight backgrounds — six PVC and two matte papers — with 160 LEDs at an index of 97 in a 40 cm box, for 60 €.
Best for: Glossy subjects — watches, cosmetics, models — where a matte background matters more than another twenty lumens.
25 by 25 cm internally · 104 LED beads built in · colour temperature NOT published — the third bullet writes "a light ring with a colour temperature of CRI95", which confuses two different things · colour accuracy above 95 claimed · 6 double-sided colour backgrounds · front horizontal window plus a vertical one · claimed to set up in three seconds · no folded size published · no dimming described · no power source named
Twenty-five centimetres square with 104 LEDs and six double-sided backgrounds for 34 € — and a bullet that gives a colour rendering index where a colour temperature should be.
Best for: Jewellery, watches and small objects photographed one after another, where the tent lives on a desk and is put away between sessions.
40 by 30 by 30 cm · 24 W of large-area LEDs, 2100 lumens claimed · 5500K, described as pure white · colour accuracy above 97 · six reinforced PVC backgrounds in black, white, grey, orange, green and blue · front, top and side panels removable in seconds, with DOUBLE front openings and a lid aperture · flicker-free dimming from 0 to 100 per cent on stable direct current · velcro assembly claimed under 10 seconds · carry bag supplied · no folded size published
Forty by thirty by thirty centimetres, 2100 lumens at 5500K, an accuracy index above 97 and flicker-free dimming from zero — the only tent on this shelf that publishes a lumen figure.
Best for: Small product work where the light has to be brought down for a reflective subject, and where the camera needs to come in from the front, the side and above.
