What the button does
Every "Check price on Amazon" button here carries an affiliate tag. Press one, buy the lens or the head at the other end, and a share of that sale comes back to us. You are charged what Amazon charges; arriving by this route costs you nothing extra and saves you nothing either.
The button goes through this site before it goes anywhere, because the destination depends on where you are reading. From Italy it ends at amazon.it, from Spain at amazon.es, each carrying the tag registered for that store. That is also why the markup says rel="nofollow sponsored": a link capable of earning is advertising, and it is declared as advertising to anything that reads the page.
Which way the money pulls, and what pulls back
The commission is a percentage, so a fast telephoto returns more than a set of step rings ever will. That pull is real and it is worth naming. Three arrangements work against it, and each can be checked rather than believed:
- Position on a shelf owes nothing to earnings. What a reference pays is not consulted while a family is being ordered, and no ranking has been rearranged once written because one entry turned out to pay better. When the plain answer is the least expensive thing on the page — or is no purchase at all, as it is when a hood already in the box would do the work of the filter being considered — the page prints that instead.
- A great many of the firmest recommendations here are cheap. A grey card, a step ring, a second cell: none of them is worth much to us and all of them change more than an upgrade would. Price and commission set nothing.
- Where a reference has no confirmed offer on your own Amazon store, the button opens a search there rather than a product page that may be dead. That earns us less. It costs you nothing.
What is not for sale
No place in a ranking, no paragraph, and no degree of enthusiasm has ever been available for purchase here, and none is now. No page carries sponsorship. A verdict is not revised because a model sells out or because a rival would return more — it cannot return more, since nothing on this site responds to that at all.
About the prices
A live figure shown here is drawn from Amazon's own recorded prices for your market and held for a short while before being read again. Photographic equipment moves in price more than most: a lens can sit at one figure for months and drop by a third for a fortnight. Treat any band written into a review as the bracket it is, and the number on Amazon at the moment of ordering as the only one that settles anything.
