Why does 600 lux without a distance tell me so little?
Because illuminance falls off sharply as a light moves away — roughly with the square of the distance. Six hundred lux measured at half a metre is about a quarter of what the same figure would mean at one metre. The hub above treats the distance as part of the measurement for exactly this reason, and the panel above it publishes 3300 lux at 1 m, which can be worked with.
What does pass-through charging change?
It removes the runtime limit. The second bullet says the panel can be charged over USB-C or USB while it is running, so a power bank turns 90 minutes into as long as the bank lasts. For a light used on a desk for meetings that is the difference between a tool and an accessory that dies mid-call.
What is a four-layer diffuser for?
To spread the light from individual emitters into an even sheet. The first bullet pairs it with side-emitting LEDs, which fire into the panel from the edges rather than straight out at the subject — the same trick used in laptop screens.
