The only light of the four here that publishes an illuminance with its distance — 3300 lux at 1 m — as a pair of 660-LED panels with stands, barn doors and bags for 194 €.

The bottom line Two 40 W panels with stands, barn doors and bags for 194 €, and the only output figure of the four here that carries its distance: 3300 lux at 1 m. The cells for outdoor use cost extra, nothing is said about flicker, and the colour range is the narrowest here.

Three thousand three hundred lux, at one metre

The figure the whole shelf was supposed to be compared on, and the only page that prints it properly. With a distance attached, the number can be scaled to wherever the light will actually stand. Without one — as on the three panels below — it is decoration.

Barn doors, which nothing else here has

Four hinged flaps that cut the beam at its edges. On a two-light setup in a room they are what keeps the fill light off the background and the key light out of the lens. They are a studio fitting, and their presence says what kind of light this is.

Two of everything, in one box

Two panels, two stands to 190 cm, two adapters, two cables, two bags. A second light is what turns a flat frontal look into shape, and buying two of anything separately costs more than this pair does together.

The cells are not in the box

The mains adapters are supplied; the NP-F550 and NP-F970 cells are not. Indoors that changes nothing. Outdoors it is a purchase, and the page states it plainly in the same bullet that offers the option.

Sixteen hundred kelvin of range, and no word on flicker

From tungsten to daylight and nothing beyond either end, which covers the two situations that matter and none of the creative ones. And like every other panel on this shelf, this page never names a frame rate or claims to be flicker-free.

What people ask before they commit

Why does 3300 lux at 1 m matter when the others quote no distance?

Because it is the only figure that can be used. Illuminance falls off roughly with the square of distance, so 3300 lux at one metre is around 825 at two and about 370 at three — a calculation that is possible here and impossible for the panels quoting lux without a distance or lumens instead. The hub above calls the distance part of the measurement, and this is the page that proves why.

What do barn doors do?

They are hinged flaps on the front of the light that block its edges, so the beam can be cut off a wall, a background or the camera lens. The second bullet names them as shaping the light and controlling spill. On a two-light setup indoors that control is what stops the two sources washing into each other, and nothing else on this shelf includes them.

What are NP-F cells and why are they not included?

They are a long-established camcorder battery format, named in the third bullet as NP-F550 and NP-F970 — the smaller and larger sizes. Lights of this kind take them on a plate at the back, which is why the first bullet quotes a 14.8 V battery output. Not supplying them keeps the price of a two-light kit at 194 €, and anyone already filming probably owns some.
