Walimex pro WT-806, 102 to 256 cm, 6 kg, air-cushioned

Two hundred and fifty-six centimetres and 6 kg for 39 €, with the only 5/8 inch spigot on this shelf and an air cushion that stops a section dropping on a hand.

Maximum and minimum height
102 to 256 cm, in the first bullet, described as a working height for studio and location. Two hundred and fifty-six centimetres puts it second here, 24 cm below the K&F and 46 cm above the EMART — and its 102 cm minimum is the least low of the four, so this stand does not work close to the ground
Folded length
Not published. The first bullet claims a compact packed size and a low weight without giving either figure, which the buying advice for this shelf calls the number people regret
Section count
Not published. The fifth bullet names high-grade metal locks and a solid build, and never says how many segments there are — though the third bullet implies several by describing the cushioning between them
Spigot and thread sizes
All three, and this is the only page here to name a spigot at all: a 5/8 inch spigot with a 1/4 inch thread, plus a 3/8 inch adapter supplied. The hub above calls the 16 mm stud the studio convention and notes that 5/8 inch names the same thing — so this is the one stand on the shelf that takes a softbox bracket or a studio head as designed
Declared load
6 kg, in the fourth bullet, credited to a stable aluminium construction and named for studio flashes, LED lights and softboxes. It is the strongest figure on this shelf, and it is matched by the fitting: 6 kg on a 5/8 inch spigot is a coherent pair, where 5 kg on a 1/4 inch screw is not
Leg spread
Not published as a figure. The fifth bullet claims a wide footing increasing stability on various surfaces, without a diameter
Material
Reinforced aluminium tubes with sturdy legs and high-grade metal locks, in the fourth and fifth bullets. No weight is published anywhere

  • A 5/8 inch spigot with a 1/4 inch thread and a 3/8 inch adapter — the only studio fitting on this shelf
  • Six kilograms declared, the strongest figure here, and 256 cm of height
  • No folded length, no weight, no section count and no footprint published

Best for: A studio head or a softbox on a proper stand, where the spigot, the 6 kg rating and the air cushion matter and the stand stays in one room.

On the listing

Five bracketed bullets. A working height from 102 to 256 cm for studio and location, with a compact packed size and low weight; standard connections — a 5/8 inch spigot with a 1/4 inch thread and an additional 3/8 inch adapter — compatible with common photo and video accessories; an integrated spring damping system protecting equipment by letting the segments lower gently; a stable aluminium construction carrying up to 6 kg for studio flashes, LED lights and softboxes, with reinforced tubes and sturdy legs; and a solid build with high-grade metal locks and a wide footing for stability at full extension.

The only spigot on this shelf

Five eighths of an inch, which is the 16 mm stud the studio world is built around. Two other stands here finish in a 1/4 inch camera screw and one publishes nothing. A softbox bracket, an umbrella holder or a studio head drops onto this one as designed, and the 3/8 inch adapter is in the box for everything else.

Six kilograms that match the fitting

The strongest figure here, and the only one where the mount is sized for what the column claims. Five kilograms on a quarter-inch screw is two specifications describing different stands; 6 kg on a spigot is one.

The air cushion

Loosen a clamp on a loaded stand and the inner tube falls. The third bullet describes a damping system that lets it settle instead — on a hand, on a light, or on the floor, that is the difference between an inconvenience and a repair.

Two hundred and fifty-six centimetres, and never below a hundred and two

Second only to the 280 cm K&F, and 46 cm above the EMART. It is a stand for lighting from above, and it is the wrong stand for lighting a table from its own level.
