Nelko PP01, inkjet, 272 g, 100 sheets review

The only inkjet on this shelf — 272 g, one cartridge, a hundred sheets of self-adhesive paper, driven from a phone app for 80 €.

The bottom line The only inkjet on this shelf, at 272 g with one cartridge and a hundred sheets of self-adhesive paper, printing from a phone for 80 €. It publishes no print size, no borderless claim and no profile, and its waterproofing belongs to the paper rather than the ink.

On the listing

Five bullets. A portable printer using colour ink technology, producing vivid full-colour prints on self-adhesive photo paper described as dirt-proof, waterproof and tear-resistant, pocket-sized at 272 g and named for school activities, travel and gifts; easy Bluetooth printing for iOS and Android in four steps — download the Nelko app, load the paper smooth side down, fit the ink cartridge, connect and print, with a note to read the instructions first; high photo quality from advanced inkjet technology with high-resolution images, fine detail and true-to-life tones, every print self-adhesive for scrapbooks; a powerful app offering frames, templates, stickers and custom text, sending a photo to print in under 60 seconds; and versatile scenarios naming travel journals, party gifts, planners, DIY projects, labels and scrapbooking.

The only inkjet on the shelf

Three printers here heat dye from a ribbon; this one sprays ink. The consequence is in the first bullet: it is the PAPER that resists water, not the print, because there is no laminate layer sealing it.

Two hundred and seventy-two grams, in a pocket

The weight is published, which on a printer meant to travel is the specification that decides whether it travels.

One cartridge, four steps

App, paper, cartridge, Bluetooth. The simplest setup on this shelf, and the arrangement where one spent colour retires the other two.

A hundred sheets, and no size for them

Five bullets about adhesive backing and app features, and not one dimension. The 119 € Canon publishes every size it makes.

Sixty seconds, from phone to paper

The fourth bullet times the transfer rather than the print. The 80 € KODAK and 100 € Liene on this shelf time the print itself, at 55 and 67 seconds.

What it does well, and what it gives up

Strengths

  • Two hundred and seventy-two grams and pocket-sized, with a hundred sheets included
  • Self-adhesive paper described as waterproof and tear-resistant
  • One cartridge and a four-step setup, driven entirely from a phone

Compromises

  • No print size published anywhere on the page
  • A single cartridge, so one exhausted colour replaces all of them
  • No borderless claim, no profile, and no path except Bluetooth

Specifications

TechnologyCOLOUR INKJET, in the first and third bullets, which name advanced inkjet technology and colour ink printing. It is the only inkjet on this shelf: KODAK, Liene and Canon all use dye-sublimation. Inkjet on self-adhesive paper is the sticker-printer arrangement, and it behaves differently — no ribbon to run out in step with the paper, and no laminate layer over the finished print
Ink set and cartridge countONE cartridge, named in the second bullet as step three of the setup. A single tri-colour cartridge is the simplest arrangement there is, and also the one where an empty blue empties the whole cartridge
Ink typeNot further specified — "colour ink" and nothing more. The 100 € Liene and the 80 € KODAK on this shelf publish ribbon counts instead, which is what sublimation uses in place of ink
Maximum paper sizeNOT PUBLISHED. Four bullets describe what the paper does — self-adhesive, dirt-proof, waterproof, tear-resistant — and none says how big a print is. The 119 € Canon on this shelf publishes its whole range, from 100 by 148 mm down to a 22 by 17.3 mm sticker
Borderless supportNot stated
Media pathsOne: the phone. The second bullet gives the whole sequence — download the Nelko app, load the paper smooth side down, fit the cartridge, connect over Bluetooth, print. No card slot, no USB host, no direct camera connection
ConnectivityBluetooth to iOS and Android through the maker’s app, in the second bullet, with editing tools, frames, stickers and text in the fourth
Profile availabilityNot mentioned. No ICC profile, no colour management and no paper profile appears — which on a phone-driven sticker printer is consistent rather than surprising

What people ask before they commit

How does inkjet differ from the sublimation printers here?

In what it consumes and what it leaves. Sublimation heats dye from a ribbon into the paper and seals it under a laminate — the 80 € KODAK and 100 € Liene both describe that, and both resist water because of the seal. This inkjet sprays ink onto paper whose own coating does the protecting: the first bullet credits the PAPER with being waterproof and tear-resistant, not the print.

Why does the missing print size matter?

Because it is what a photo printer produces. The page describes adhesive backing, portability and app features across five bullets and never states a dimension. The 119 € Canon publishes sizes from postcard down to mini-sticker; here the sheet count is 100 and the size has to be found on the packaging.

What does one cartridge mean in practice?

Simplicity, and waste. There is one thing to fit and one thing to replace, which suits a printer meant to live in a bag. The cost is that a tri-colour cartridge is finished when any single colour is: a run of blue-heavy prints retires the yellow and magenta with it.
