What does a 6 inch ring do that a bigger one does not?
It fits. On a crowded desk, clipped to a monitor edge, a small ring is the only kind that can sit where the eye line already is. What it gives up is softness: the hub above notes that a larger ring is a larger and therefore softer source, and that a small ring mounted close is effectively a soft on-camera light rather than a portrait light.
Why does the missing kelvin figure matter?
Because matching light is done by number. A room lit at 3000K and a ring set to its warm mode may or may not agree, and without a figure the only way to find out is to try. Three of the six rings on this shelf publish a range — 3000K to 6500K, 3200K to 6000K, a fixed 5600K — and those can be matched to a lamp or a window deliberately.
How much weight will the monitor clip take?
