What the part number carries

E-58II: 58 millimetres, and Canon’s revised centre-pinch design. Both facts live in the code rather than in the listing.

Why the “II” matters

The earlier caps were gripped at the rim and could not be removed with a hood fitted. The centre-pinch version can, and the page never says so.
