Getting smooth slides

Level the slider first, then support it at both ends on two light stands or a tripod and the included feet. Move the carriage at an even speed, start and stop gently, and use a light camera and lens: the less weight on the carriage, the smoother the move.

Why the motor is inside

Most motorized sliders bolt a motor and belt onto a rail. The G1 builds the motor into the rail, so there is less to assemble and nothing to snag. KONOVA says it runs below 30 dB, quiet enough for interviews.

A/B points

Set a start and end point, and the slider repeats the move exactly, even after power-off. That makes it easy to reshoot a move.
