The EK7000 Pro is the upgraded version of the long-running EK7000. It records 4K at 30 frames per second, 1080p at 60, and 20 MP stills. The main change is the screen: a 2-inch IPS touch panel replaces button-only menus, which makes switching modes and checking clips much easier.
The bare camera is not sealed. The supplied case takes it down to 131 feet (40 meters), deep enough for snorkeling and recreational dives. Mount the camera in the case before any water sport, and dry the seal before you open it again.
Each 1350 mAh cell is quoted at up to 140 minutes. With two in the box, a full morning on the water is realistic without a charger. That is the main reason this camera keeps selling against pricier rivals.
The sensor is a 1/3-inch CMOS, which is small even for this class. In shade, at dusk or indoors the image turns soft and noisy. Stabilization is electronic, so it crops the frame. For low light, the DJI Osmo Action 4 on this shelf has a much larger sensor.
