Manfrotto’s Element MII is light at 0.5 kg yet rated for 15 kg.
Twist locks
Five sections lock with twist collars.
Threads
Cameras use a 1/4-20 tripod thread; larger heads and sliders often use 3/8-16. A reversible screw or an adapter lets one support take both.
Seller
Amazon.com at about $45.
Using a monopod well
A monopod takes the weight of the camera and steadies the up-and-down axis, which lets you use a slower shutter speed than handheld. Plant the foot slightly in front of you and lean the pole back toward your body to form a stable triangle with your feet. It still needs a hand on the camera at all times.
Twist locks
Twist locks have no levers to snag on a bag. Loosen all five with one turn each, extend, and tighten from the top section down.

What people ask before they commit
Can it carry a 70-200mm lens?
Manfrotto rates it at 15 kg. A declared load is a static figure: what the support holds without slipping. It says nothing about vibration, wind or what the head can hold once tilted.
Which head should I add?
A small ball head or tilt head; the screw converts between 1/4 and 3/8 in.
Is it the same as the European version?
The model code MMELMIIA5BK is used worldwide; Amazon.com sells it.
