NEEWER F100 7-inch Monitor review

A low-cost 7-inch monitor with a 1280 × 800 panel, focus peaking and a battery, ball head and sunshade included, for about $116. At 450 nits it is a shade-and-indoors screen.

A big screen on a budget

NEEWER’s F100 puts a 7-inch IPS panel, 17 mm thin, on top of a camera for about $116. The resolution is 1280 × 800, enough to judge framing and, with peaking, focus.

Everything in the box

A 4400 mAh NP-F750 battery, a sunshade, a mini ball head and two HDMI cables come with it. It can also run from USB power.

Its limits

The panel is rated at 450 nits, which is dim outside. The listed formats stop at 1080p, and there are no LUTs or waveform.

Step up

The NEEWER F500 PRO and F700U on this shelf add Full HD panels, 4K input, LUTs and far brighter screens, at about twice and three times the price.

Good value for indoor framing and focus with a large screen. Outdoor shooters should spend more for brightness.
