Beam-splitter glass costs light, and the reflection has to be controlled · review
Desview T3 Teleprompter review
A compact teleprompter for cameras and phones that takes tablets up to 10 inches, with coated 70/30 glass and a Bluetooth remote, sold by Desview for about $90.
A teleprompter puts angled beam-splitter glass in front of the lens. The camera sees through the glass while the speaker reads text reflected from a screen below it, so they look straight into the lens.
Glass quality
Desview uses 70/30 glass with a 26-layer coating and says it transmits up to 97% of light. Better coating means less ghosting of the text in the camera image.
Mounting
Nine adapter rings attach the hood to common lens diameters. The front clamp holds a phone or a tablet up to 10 inches.
Control
The Bluetooth remote pairs with the DESVIEW app to start, pause and change scroll speed, so you can run the script on your own.
Who should look elsewhere
Owners of 11-inch or larger tablets, and anyone wanting a built-in screen, should look at the NEEWER X12 and X11 on this shelf.
